I think it is insane how some people have such an ability when it comes to art, where to find inspiration, and how to make something simple into something beautiful. I was amazed when I saw the pictures that had been taken by one of the guys that is studying here with me. His name is Mikie Etlinger he is a student a WMU and has a serious eye for finding beautiful things in the most random places. I have no idea how long he has been working with photography, or how long this has been his hobby, but I really think he is going to go far with this kind of work. I asked him if I could blog about the pics he has taken here in Spain because they impressed me so much, and he of course just laughed at me and said YEAH!!
What I think is great is that the life we are living here, the families we get to see everyday, and the way people act are all seen so vividly through some of these pictures. You can see the old with the new, the culture (fiestas, smoking), and small parts of each city that most of us did not even think twice about really taking a good look.
The colors in the pictures are also amazing and remind me so much of all of the cathedrals, and art we have seen here so far. I think the best pieces of art come with a feeling. It allows the people that are looking at it to feel a certain way, to think about memories they might have had in the past. Well I think that I have fallen in love with these pictures because they do just that, I feel the culture, the people, my spanish family, the cathedrals, the food, the jokes people tell here, and a lot more.
I liked Mikie's pictures so much I wanted to make sure other people got to see them too! I hope you all enjoy his work as much as I did :)
