My Family Life!

I have to be completely honest, the first day was extremely difficult for me. We arrived in Spain soooo beyond tired, with our emotions all over the place. I was excited, anxious, nervous, and not sure what exactly to expect.

I got very lucky to have been placed in a family so similar to mine. Right when I got here my Magdallena and her boyfriend took me straight to the "Tappas" bar for us to have a small appetizer and a cold Spanish beer. Of course I was very content lol Food and Beer, my welcoming present could not have been any better.

It has only been 2 weeks since I first arrived but from day 1, I have felt very at home here. The family is very sweet, and are always doing everything to please Alban and I. They buy foods we like, help us with directions, take us out to festivals and so many other things!

2 days after arriving it was my 22 birthday, and the first birthday I spent away from my loved ones. So I woke up that morning, and while getting ready for school they were all I was thinking about and missing. The second I walked out of my room and into the kitchen there was my Spanish family ready to have breakfast with me. I was greeted with kisses, hugs, presents, coffee and chocolate filled croissants! They turned my morning around and made me feel like I was not alone here on my birthday, which ended up being the best gift they could have giving me that day. When I got home from class we ate lunch, and Magdallena had that beautiful cake and arroz dulce waiting for me for dessert. They sang to me and everything!

We spend a a lot of time with the family here. It is so special because once again it reminds me of how things are when we visit Brasil. We have lunch everyday with their grandpa at his house around 3:30 and it is at least an hour event each day. Everyone comes home around 10:30 pm and we all eat dinner together as well. It was a difficult getting used to the times that they eat, since they are so different from ours but now I am finally getting used to eating dinner until 11:30 pm :)

All I can say is that I could have not done this without having a great support team behind me, so thank you so much to all of my family and loved ones at home, and to my Spanish family for making me feel welcomed and at home everyday!
